เมื่อวันที่ 11 สิงหาคม 2569 นายพสุศิษฏ์ วงศ์สุรวัฒน์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองปีนัง และภรรยา เยี่ยมชมโรงงาน Fumakilla ตามคำเชิญของ Dato’ Brian Tan, President and CEO ของ Fumakilla Asia Sdn. Bhd. และ Fumakilla Malaysia Berhad ในโอกาสครบรอบ 50 ปี ของบริษัทที่ดำเนินกิจการที่รัฐปีนัง นอกจาก Fumakilla จะเป็นผู้ผลิตและจำหน่ายยาจุดกันยุง ยาจุดกันยุงไฟฟ้า และยาฆ่าแมลงที่สำคัญเป็นอันดับต้น ๆ ของมาเลเซียแล้ว Fumakilla ยังเป็นบริษัทเอกชนที่มีศูนย์วิจัยและพัฒนา (Research and Development Centre) ที่ทันสมัยและครบวงจรที่สุดในรัฐปีนัง โดยแผนกวิจัยทางกีฏวิทยา (Entomology Research Centre) ของ Fumakilla ได้รับการรับรองโดยกระทรวงสาธารณสุขมาเลเซีย และมีบทบาทสำคัญในการศึกษาวิจัยเกี่ยวกับการกำจัดยุงซึ่งเป็นพาหะนำโรคที่อันตราย โดยเฉพาะโรคไข้เลือดออกซึ่งมีการระบาดในมาเลเซียทุกปีและมีการระบาดมากขึ้นในปีนี้

Fumakilla มีบริษัทแม่อยู่ที่ญี่ปุ่น เริ่มดำเนินกิจการผลิตยากันยุงในปี 2463 และได้ขยายกิจการออกไปยังหลายประเทศในเอเชีย อาทิ มาเลเซีย อินโดนีเซีย อินเดีย ไทย รวมถึงเปิดตลาดสู่ทวีปยุโรปและอเมริกา ปัจจุบันมีสินค้าวางจำหน่ายกว่า 70 ประเทศทั่วโลก ในปี 2506 Fumakilla เป็นผู้คิดค้นยาจุดกันยุงไฟฟ้าออกวางจำหน่ายเป็นเจ้าแรก ก่อนจะเป็นที่นิยมแพร่หลายจนถึงปัจจุบัน Fumakilla ขยายกิจการเข้าไปในไทยเมื่อปี 2542 โดยมีโรงงานตั้งอยู่ที่จังหวัดนครราชสีมา

Royal Thai Consulate-General in Penang visits Fumakilla
On 11 August 2026, Mr. Psusist Wongsurawat, Consul-General of Thailand in Penang, accompanied by his spouse, visited the Fumakilla factory at the invitation of Dato’ Brian Tan, President and CEO of Fumakilla Asia Sdn. Bhd. and Fumakilla Malaysia Berhad. The visit marked the 50th anniversary of the company’s operations in Penang. Beyond being a leading manufacturer and distributor of mosquito coils, electric mosquito repellents, and insecticides in Malaysia, Fumakilla stands out as a private enterprise boasting the most modern and comprehensive Research and Development Centre in Penang. Fumakilla’s Entomology Research Centre are certified and approved by the Malaysian Ministry of Health and plays a pivotal role in research on the control of disease-carrying mosquitoes particularly dengue fever, an illness that sees annual outbreaks in Malaysia and has experienced a surge in cases this year.

Fumakilla, headquartered in Japan, began manufacturing mosquito repellents in 1920 and subsequently expanded its operations across Asia including Malaysia, Indonesia, India, and Thailand as well as into European and American markets; today, its products are sold in over 70 countries worldwide. In 1963, Fumakilla pioneered the electric mosquito repellent, a product that went on to achieve widespread popularity. The company expanded into Thailand in 1999, establishing a manufacturing plant in Nakhon Ratchasima.
