On 16 October 2026 at 10.00 - 12.00 hrs., the Royal Thai Consulate - General in Penang held a meeting with Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara Malaysia (JPN), Kedah at Function Room, the Royal Thai Consulate - General in Penang. The meeting aimed to exchange information regarding the consular missions of both authorities, particularly birth registration, marriage registration, issuance of birth and death certificates, retention and renunciation of nationality, and document legalization. The participants from the Royal Thai Consulate - General in Penang consisted of Mr. Psusist Wongsurawat, Ms. Suratchaya Palawongse, Deputy Consul - General as Acting Consul - General, and relevant consular officers, whereas JPN delegation was led by Puan Faraisha Adira binti Yahya, JPN Director, and officers, totalling approximately 20 people.

 

Both sides had fruitful discussions in exchanging information and views on civil registration system, which enhanced mutual understanding and the opportunity to build connections for future coordination.
