เมื่อวันที่ 4 กันยายน 2569 นายพสุศิษฏ์ วงศ์สุรวัฒน์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองปีนัง และภริยา เข้าร่วมงาน The Lion Origin Penang 2026 ที่ HARRIS Hotel & Conventions รัฐปีนัง ตามคำเชิญของ YBhg Dato’ Yeoh Soon Hin รองประธาน Tourism Malaysia และประธานคณะกรรมการจัดงาน โดยมี YB Mr. Anthony Loke Siew Fook รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงคมนาคมมาเลเซียเป็นประธานกล่าวเปิดงาน และมีผู้แทนจากคณะผู้แทนทางการกงสุล ภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และชุมชนท้องถิ่นเข้าร่วมงานเป็นจำนวนมาก

การแสดง The Lion Origin Penang 2026 เป็นการถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับต้นกำเนิดและพัฒนาการของศิลปะการเชิดสิงโต ตั้งแต่จุดเริ่มต้นในประเทศจีน ผ่านการเดินทางมาตั้งถิ่นฐานในดินแดนใหม่ และการสืบทอดศิลปะการเชิดสิงโตจากรุ่นสู่รุ่น ผ่านเหตุการณ์สำคัญช่วงต่าง ๆ ในประวัติศาสตร์ สะท้อนถึงความสำคัญของศิลปะการเชิดสิงโตในฐานะมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมของสังคมพหุวัฒนธรรมมาเลเซีย โดยใช้นักแสดงหลายร้อยคนทั้งเด็กและผู้ใหญ่ การจัดกิจกรรมในครั้งนี้นอกจากจะเป็นการสืบสานศิลปวัฒนธรรมจีนในปีนังแล้ว ยังเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกิจกรรมส่งเสริม Visit Malaysia 2026 ด้วย โดยกงสุลใหญ่ฯ และภริยาได้ใช้โอกาสนี้สร้างความคุ้นเคยกับผู้แทนระดับสูงฝ่ายมาเลเซีย รวมทั้งสร้างเครือข่ายกับภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และชุมชนในพื้นที่

On 4 September 2026, Mr. Psusist Wongsurawat, Consul-General of Thailand in Penang, accompanied by his spouse, attended "The Lion Origin Penang 2026" at the HARRIS Hotel & Conventions in Penang, at the invitation of YBhg Dato’ Yeoh Soon Hin, Deputy Chairman of Tourism Malaysia and Chairman of the organizing committee. The event was presided over by YB Mr. Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport of Malaysia, and was attended by a large number of representatives from the consular corps, the public and private sectors, and the local community.

"The Lion Origin Penang 2026" performance narrates the story of the origins and evolution of the lion dance - tracing its beginnings in China, its journey to new lands, and its transmission across generations amidst key historical events. Featuring a cast of hundreds of children and adults, the production highlights the significance of the lion dance as cultural heritage within Malaysia's multicultural society. In addition to preserving Chinese arts and culture in Penang, this event served as part of the promotional activities for "Visit Malaysia 2026." The Consul-General and his spouse took this opportunity to build rapport with high-ranking Malaysian officials and to establish networks with the public and private sectors, as well as the local community.
