เมื่อวันที่ 30 กันยายน 2569 นายพสุศิษฏ์ วงศ์สุรวัฒน์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองปีนัง และคู่สมรส เป็นเจ้าภาพเลี้ยงอาหารกลางวัน Mrs. Gonthong Lourdesamy ผู้อำนวยการ The Habitat Penang Hill และ Ms. Ng Kim Theng ผู้จัดการฝ่ายการตลาด Penang Hill Corporation ที่บ้านพักฯ เพื่อแสดงความขอบคุณในไมตรีจิตของทั้งสองหน่วยงาน ตลอดจนการสนับสนุนภารกิจต่าง ๆ ของสถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ด้วยดีเสมอมา

ในโอกาสนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับพัฒนาการด้านการท่องเที่ยวของไทยและปีนัง การพัฒนาแหล่งท่องเที่ยวและศักยภาพในการรองรับการเดินทางระหว่างกันที่เพิ่มขึ้น โดยให้ความสำคัญกับการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ระหว่างประชาชน ซึ่งนอกจากจะเป็นการกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระดับฐานรากแล้ว ยังเป็นการช่วยส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างกันที่สำคัญอีกด้วย

Penang Hill ถือเป็นสัญลักษณ์และสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวที่เป็นที่รู้จักมากที่สุดของปีนัง ในขณะที่ The Habitat เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวเชิงอนุรักษ์ที่สำคัญแห่งหนึ่งของมาเลเซีย โดย Penang Hill ได้รับการประกาศให้เป็นพื้นที่สงวนชีวมณฑลโดย UNESCO ตั้งแต่ปี 2564

Consul-General of Thailand in Penang Hosts Luncheon to Express Appreciation to The Habitat Penang Hill and Penang Hill Corporation

On 30 September 2026, Mr. Psusist Wongsurawat, Consul-General of Thailand in Penang, and his spouse hosted a luncheon at the Consul-General’s residence to express appreciation to Mrs. Gonthong Lourdesamy, Park Director of The Habitat Penang Hill, and Ms. Ng Kim Theng, Marketing Manager of Penang Hill Corporation, for their kindness and consistent support of the Consulate-General’s missions.

On this occasion, the Consul-General exchanged views on tourism developments  in Thailand and Penang, as well as the enhancement of tourist attractions and the capacity to accommodate growing two-way travel. Emphasis was placed on people-to-people exchanges, which not only strengthen grassroots-level ties but also play a vital role in boosting the economies of both sides.

Penang Hill is considered the most iconic landmark and tourist attraction in Penang, while The Habitat stands as a major eco-tourism destination in Malaysia. Penang Hill was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2021.
