เมื่อวันที่ 13 เมษายน 2564  สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองปีนัง ได้จัดงานวันสงกรานต์สืบสานวัฒนธรรมไทย ปี 2564  ณ บริเวณลานเอนกประสงค์ด้านหน้าสถานกงสุลใหญ่ โดยมีนายรัชฏา จิวาลัย กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองปีนัง เป็นประธาน พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการ เจ้าหน้าที่ ชมรมครัวไทยในรัฐปีนัง ชุมชนไทย และแขกฝ่ายมาเลเซีย มาร่วมงานประมาณ 70 คน

ภายในงานมีการจัดกิจกรรมแบบ New Normal ได้แก่ พิธีสรงน้ำพระ ก่อเจดีย์ทราย รำวง ซุ้มอาหารไทย โดยชมรมครัวไทยในรัฐปีนัง รวมทั้งได้รับความอนุเคราะห์จากการท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย สำนักงานกรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ ในการจัดมุมประชาสัมพันธ์การท่องเที่ยวไทย 

ทั้งนี้ สถานกงสุลใหญ่ได้ปฏิบัติตามมาตรการป้องกันการแพร่ระบาดของโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโควิด-19 โดยผู้เข้าร่วมงานจะต้องสวมหน้ากากอนามัย ผ่านจุดคัดกรองวัดอุณหภูมิ ล้างมือด้วยเจลแอลกอฮอล์ check-in ใน application MySejahtera มีการเว้นระยะห่างทางสังคม และจำกัดจำนวนผู้เข้าร่วมงานในแต่ละรอบ (ระยะเวลา 1 ชม.) ไม่เกิน 20 คน 

Songkran Festival 2021, A New Normal Thai Cultural Perspective

On 13 April 2021, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Penang organized “Songkran Songkran Festival 2021, A New Normal Thai Cultural Perspective,” to celebrate the Thai New Year. The event was presided over by H.E. Mr. Raschada Jiwalai, Consul-General of Thailand. Featuring several cultural activities such as Buddha image’s bathing ritual, forming of sand pagoda, Thai folk dancing and Thai street food showcase. In addition to that, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Malaysia, has also set up an amazingly beautiful tourism corner, to promote Thai tourism among the Penangites.

There are approximately 70 guests attend the said event, including officials and staff of the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Thai Kitchen Network in Penang, Thai community as well as Friends of Thailand in Malaysia.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Penang has strictly followed the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. All participants must wear face masks, body temperature scanning, wash hands thoroughly with adequate hand sanitizer, check-in in MySejahtera application, and keep physical distancing. The capacity of participants is limited to 20 pax. per round (1-hour).
